Thames Festival
Sunday, 12th September 2010
We will watch the Night Carnival and Fireworks of the Thames Festival, meeting from 6pm in Doggetts pub on the South Bank. We will move to a nearby location to wait for the carnival at 7pm, in preparation for it to pass us from around 7.30pm, and the fireworks are at 9.45pm. Please note that this event will involve long periods of standing and, due to the festival, the pub and surrounding areas will be exceptionally crowded. Pub Evening

We had Riverside Drinks at The Old Thameside Inn near London Bridge station. The weather was a bit gloomy but the atmosphere vibrant by the end of the evening!
Day Trip

This year's annual day out was to the historical and very beautiful city of Bath. We enjoyed lunch, a whirlwind tour of the city, famous buns and drinks in the evening.
World Cup
Thursday, 24th June 2010
We watched the Japan vs Denmark match at the Slug and Lettuce pub. Japan won with an excellent performance and it was enjoyable to see the match in such company.
Restaurant Night

The conversation group held a Restaurant Night at the excellent Yoisho restaurant near Goodge Street station and Tottenham Court Road.
Hanami in Kensington Gardens
Saturday, 24th April 2010
We held our traditional Hanami cherry blossom viewing party in Kensington Gardens. Plentiful amounts of food and drink were consumed as we relaxed under the authentic sakura trees. Afterwards, we moved on to the Queens Arms pub and the merriment continued into the night.

We threw a slightly belated New Year Party the Bincho yakitori restaurant in Soho at 2pm on Saturday, 20th February 2010.
Christmas Party

We hosted a Christmas party at the Bincho yakitori restaurant in Soho at 2pm on Saturday, 12th December 2009. Afterwards, we indulged in a spot of karaoke and then enjoyed a few drinks in a nearby pub.
Summer Barbeque

We returned to the Water Poet pub on Friday, 28th August 2009 for an evening of barbequed food and drinks. Around twenty members attended and the food was delicious.
Summer Outing
Saturday, 18th July 2009
Our annual outing, this year to Brighton, took place on Saturday, 18th July. We enjoyed the beach while the sun lasted, had some traditional fish and chips and then split up to explore the city, go shopping or see attractions such as the Brighton Pavillion, before settling down in a local pub for the evening.
Restaurant Night

The conversation group held a Restaurant Night at the delightful izakaya-style restuarant Asakusa in Mornington Crescent. We met from 7pm in The Crescent pub across the road from the station in time to proceed to the restaurant by 8pm. It was an excellent evening.
